Students should reach school by 6.50 a.m. student reaching after 7.05 a.m. may with warning be allowed.

They should carry the almanac to school every day.

While going to the assembly or the respective classes or to the language class the student should maintain the perfect discipline. In  class rooms they should keep their books and copy ready before teachers arrive.

All text books and exercise copies should be covered with brown paper and should be properly labelled and kept safely.

Specified exercise books, subject wise should be maintained for the CCE and FA. These exercise books must be brought to school on the day of the test without fail and failing which the students will not be allowed to seat for the CCE/FA and lose the marks of the particular evaluation in the final result.

Students should not speak loudly or use uncivilised  language. They should not use improper gestures or manners which lowers the dignity of the school’s image, both within and outside the school premises.

Students should be very polite wherever they go.They should always remember that the school is judged by their behaviour and conduct.

The students should remain inside their classroom after reaching the school and should not loiter in the corridor or in the play ground. Any student found outside the classroom before assembly or while the class is in progress, without due permission shall be liable for disciplinary action.

Students should be clean and always neatly  dressed. They should come to school in school uniform only. Student who are not in proper uniform will not be allowed to enter their classrooms. This rule shall be applicable when they come to school for any purpose other than attending classes or even after school hours.

All non Sikh boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals.

Colouring of the hair is strictly forbidden.

Mahendi is not, under any circumstances, permitted in the school.

No shouting or whistling is allowed in or around  the school building.

Care must be taken of all school property and no student should scratch or spoil the desk or chairs or damage any school p0roperty. They must not write or draw anything on the walls or in any way damage things belonging to others. Any damage seen or done even by accident must be reported.

No magazines, books other than text books /library books and reference books should be brought to the school.

Lending or borrowing of money or other  articles is not permitted and in case of any loss of articles and  money the school is not responsible.

Students are allowed to use motorcycles or scooters for attending the school. Students coming to school by bicycles should refrain from double or triple riding. Students must not ride the bicycles in the school compound. Cycle must be parked and locked properly in the cycle stand only. 

Students who come to school in the care of servants should never leave before the servants arrive and in case of delay, they should report to the school office.

Those who go home alone should take care themselves and be prompt returning home. 

In the absence of teachers, class monitors and row monitors are responsible for the class discipline. In disciplined students are liable to be punished.

Students are warned not to buy anything specially eatables from street vendors.

Any students seen in the canteen during class hour will be fined. Monitors are responsible for switching off the lights and fans before leaving the class. 

Bursting crackers during Diwali or splashing colors/ink during Holi in the school premises is strictly forbidden. Noncompliance to these instructions can result in expulsion from the school.

A Student is allowed to continue in school if he / she fails in any subject(s) (including additional subjects) in class XI.

It is compulsory to have 80% attendance for the students of all classes from the opening of the academic session up to  the first day of the month preceding the month in which the Annual/Board Examination commences, failing which they may not be allowed to appear for the Annual/Board examination normally.

Students leaving the school under any circumstances are not eligible for the prizes / awards , however they may request for testimonials / certificates on payment.

The students must bring the bill book latest by 22nd day of the month after deposit of the tuition fees etc. in the bank and hand it over to the Class Teacher for necessary entries in the attendance register, failing which may not be allowed to attend the classes.

Student’s photograph will be attested if the photograph is taken in proper school uniform only.


 DISCIPLINARY RULES

Read the following carefully:

1.  Pupils must attend assembly which begins,at 7.10 A.M. Those who come after 7.05. must report with valid reason for their being late to the Discipline – in – charge before they go to their classes.

2.  Students are on their way to and from school are expected to report themselves in a responsible manner.

3.  All students must converse in English while in School and when wearing  school uniform even outside the school–premises. Students who converse in non English language are liable to be punished.

4.  Students are strictly forbidden to leave the school premises during regular School hours without the permission of the Principal / Leave Incharge


5.  Special attention must be adhered to maintain a high standard of morality and discipline in the school. Parents are requested to cooperate with the school authorities in this regard.

6.  Students must observe absolute silence and discipline while in class room and in the School Library.

7.  When regular period is over for the day students must come out from the class rooms in line and chaos must be avoided. They must ensure that the fans and lights are switched off and doors and windows of the classrooms are closed.

8. Late arrival to school is a breach of disciplne. A student who comes late to school must enter the date and time of arrival into the record of late arrival in school under 'late'

9. Five late arrivals will result in Parents being called to office of Principal/H.M. Ten late arrivals will invoke suspension from the school.

10. MOBILE PHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN SCHOOL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, IN CASE OF EXIGENCY SCHOOL OFFICE MAY BE CONTACTED FOR TELEPHONE PURPOSE.

 FEE RULES


1.  On receipts of the Bill Book, please write the Admission No. of your wards on the cover leaf and all leaves.

2.  All annual fees should be deposited in the Bank in one installment in April only.

3.  Kindly fill in all four parts of the Bill Book and send intact to Bank of India, Burnpur, with exact amount of fee in cash / cheque only. Do write the Admission No. of your ward on top of all four parts of the Bill Book while depositing in the Bank.

4.  Fee for all classes  must be deposited between 6th to  20th of every month. However those who are depositing the fees by cheque must deposit the same by 18th of every month.

5.  Fee for the month of March must be deposited along with Fee for the month of February  in the month of February itself.

6.  A fine of Rs. 50/- has been deposited for defaulters of one month.

7.  No fee is to be deposited in March.


8.  The name of a student will be struck off the school rolls if he / she fails to deposit the tuition fee for two consecutive months and he / she will not be allowed to attend classes until re-admission is granted by the principal.

10. Re-admission fee will have to be deposited by the defaulters for two consecutive months, subject to the prior permission of the  Principal only. 
[Re-admission fee is Rs.2,000/- ]

11. The Bill Book and leave record of class  XII students must be cleared in advance upto  month of March fee with fine etc. and it must be produced to the class teacher for verification on the very 1st day of selection examination in the month of January.

12. The cheques drawn on any Bank(s) in Asansol and Burnpur area (who are having clearing facility at Asansol) may be deposited in favour of Burnpur Riverside School in lieu of cash. In case a cheque bounces, a fine of Rs. 100/- will be added to the next month tuition fee.

13. Those who are depositing fees by cheque must write the name,class,sec.,roll no,and Adm.no. of the student on the backside of the cheque.

14. Changes in fee structure can be made at any time if the school authority thinks it necessary.

15. Parents are required to mention only Gand total of the fees amount in the foil of Bill book.

16. Banking hours are 10a.m. to 3.30p.m. from Monday to Friday.

17. Parents may use one page for more than one months fee and the Bill Book should be kept carefully. In case it gets lost, a new Bill Book can be obtained from the school office on payment.

18. Caution Money paid is refundable, only after settlement of all dues. No Refund of Caution  Money is made during Summer or Winter vacation. Caution Money is returned only on Saturday during 10.30 A.M. to 11.30 A.M. except on holidays and vacations.

19. The fee etc. once paid in the Bank is Non - Refundable.

 LIBRARY BEHAVIOR / RULES

1. Absolute silence and discipline must be maintained in the Library.  


2.  A Student must have his library card and admit card to enter the library. These cards are not exchangeable.


3. Students will be awarded grades on the basis of their behaviour in the library. A record of these grades will be maintained by the Librarian.


4. Students scoring D and E grades may be punished. Such grades will be treated as Fail and it may be carried forward to report cards.


5. The cost of any damage/loss of books will be borne by parents/guardians of the students.


6. Books must be returned or renewed in time. A fine of Re.1 per day is imposed, if books are not returned in time from the date of issue. 


7. All articles and personal belongings must be left out side when entering the Library. Only a copy-book and library book, if to be returned, may be taken into the Library.


8. The students who misbehave may not be allowed to avail reading facilities.


9. Students must not bring their school bags, water bottles  etc. inside the Library. These will be kept out of Library.


10. Normally books are issued for seven days and students can retain the books for not more than 14 days in any case for once.


11. Books lost must be informed to the Librarian immediately. Either the borrower has to replace the book or will have to pay thrice the printed price of the book available in the market.


12.     The borrower must examine the physical condition of the book at the time of issue. If he or she finds any damage he / she should bring it to the notice of the Librarian immediately before leaving the Library. Otherwise the borrower will be held responsible for the noticed damage.


13.     In case of wilful damage to Library property heavy fines will be imposed on the students to prevent such cases.


14.     Extreme miss-conduct in the Library may result in expulsion from school or suspension from school,  for a specified period as decided by the school authorities.


15.     Students are asked to take prior permission from the Librarian for availing facility at unscheduled time.


16.      Books exclusively for consultation are not to be taken out of the Library.  They remain available to all students all the time.


17.      All magazines, reference book or books used while in the library must be put back in the proper place after reading.


18.       A remark will be entered in the library of the School Almanac for every book returned late.  Three such remarks will result in the withdrawal of the lending of card and fine of Rs.50/- may be imposed.


19.       No fine will be charged for books overdue if a letter can be produced showing that the borrower has been absent for valid reasons.


20.       Library cards are distributed once a year, in April. There are two cards (a) Library Admit Card   (b) Library Lending Card.

Library Admit Card is to enter the Library and Library Lending Card is to borrow a book.  A lost card may be replaced by a new one but a fine of Rs. 50/- will have to be paid to the office.


21.      No books may be retained during summer vacation.

Co-Curricular Activities


CO – (AND EXTRA) CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Apart from the facilities provided in work experience and sports, there are a number of co – curricular activities which supplement the class work of the students. These activities not only widen the horizons of the student’s knowledge but also sharpen their skills and develop there personalities. These co – curricular activities are as follows:
